I love teaching. I want you to enjoy learning English.
I am a health care professional with a Bachelor of Technology Degree with a major in Occupational Health (Honours). I have always been interested in learning, teaching, travelling and meeting people from other cultures. I wanted to develop this interest so I studied TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) through Oxford Seminars, receiving their 140 hour TESOL/ TESL/ TEFL Certification.
My background in health care means I am very experienced and interested in teaching Medical English. My professional experience included performing health care consulting and teaching in a variety of professional practice areas, providing one on one health care education for adults, delivering community health education on a variety of public health issues, and teaching and providing client education and facilitating client recovery and reintegration into the workplace. I also enjoy teaching all levels of English, from beginner to advanced.
I bring real world experience to the table, combined with the experience of “best practice” principles, to help you understand difficult concepts. My aim is to increase not only your understanding, but your confidence in learning and retaining the material.
We come from different countries and cultures, but we all have the same goals: to work in the health care field, serve our community and gain personal satisfaction.
My goal is to find out what you want to learn, and to help you learn in ways that are effective, interesting and fun!
